February 28, edit: As you can see, I made it through about January. My instinct is to take the entire menu option down, however, I see the value in using photos to tell small stories of my day-to-day life, so I’m going to leave the incomplete project up. As someone with a slightly purist approach to photo editing, I’m hesitant to use something like Instagram, but it might be a good way to pick up where this left off. Because I do enjoy tweeting photos when I see something visually cool, I just don’t document it here as well.

This is something that I’ve wanted to do for awhile, but here’s my excuse: I don’t want some of the photos to be, say, a picture of a tree, because I couldn’t find anything else to take a picture of that day and I was desperate to log the day.
And so, this is why I’m starting the project with two other ladies: Kylie and Zoey. It looks like we’re all going to host our own photos to develop our blogs, but we’re around to encourage each other, like Kylie just did when I said I wasn’t sure about starting on Jan. 1, because I didn’t like the photo that I have for today.
“With 365 of them, you’re not gonna love every day. It’s not about perfection, just about dedication.”
Edit: My plan is to mainly use my Canon Rebel XTi DSLR — I even think that I have a big enough purse I can probably carry it with me and not in the backpack I usually use with all the lenses when I’m working — and so I’ll note some technical details, or if I cheated and used my iPhone. I was tempted to use more of a mix, because my iPhone is always on me, but then I was thinking about how much loss of control happens when it comes to aperture and shutter speed, and I decided I really wouldn’t be happy with the majority of the project photos if they were shot mainly with an iPhone.
As well, the photos will be from both my personal and professional life: because I work weekends, I shoot a lot of events and I’m pretty pleased with the way some of those photos turn out.
We’ve decided that the project will run from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31. Everything else you need to know, should be in the captions.
